What people are saying about the Carman Cougar Charities Corporation.

Rankin Elementary LOVED the Carman Cougars’ donation of the great quality snow pants, boots and gloves. Our 3rd and 5th graders go to camp for a week in January. They were a welcome donation as many of our students do not have the resources to buy winter gear. Other Rankin students welcomed the winter gear to stay warm and dry for outside recess and so they could enjoy outside activities at home.

Let me share a story that happened this year: I teach kindergarten at Randels Elementary. This year, Cougar Charities donated boots, mittens and snow pants to all of our elementary schools. My school was fortunate to get some of these wonderful things. I distributed them in my classroom to the families that I felt needed them and I had such a wonderful response from the students. One of my students was delighted to have boots that had some pink on them. She has three older brothers and all of them have been in my class. I gave her the snow pants and boots and her older brother also received snow pants and boots. A couple days later the grandma came to me with tears in her eyes and asked me “what do I owe you?” I responded nothing, I am part of this wonderful organization that sees how some of our students need some things and you owe me nothing. She cried and hugged me and was so thankful for what we are doing for her grandchildren. What could be better than that: meeting basic needs for community children that really need it? They have hard-working parents and grandparents who just aren’t able to do it. As a member of the educational community in the Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools, I see first hand how many of our students are in need of basic items. And I am very proud to be a member of the Carman Cougar Charities Corporation.

Dye Elementary Students are extremely fortunate to benefit from the generosity of the Carman Cougars. Many students have been able to enjoy a warm and wonderful winter recess because of the donations of snow pants and boots. Donations of personal hygiene items have allowed students to practice good grooming habits at school that they are then able to carry over at home. The Carman Cougars have provided Dye students with many items that allow them to be able to more fully participate in school activities and then be able to focus on the curriculum. The donations of the Cougars have also provided a model for our students of what it means to grow in your career and then give back to others in the community. Dye Elementary is grateful to the Carman Cougars. Thanks again!

The Carman Cougar Charities Scholarship is making a tremendous impact for this year’s winner. During a time when students are leaving college with large burdens of debt, the scholarship is making the college path much lighter for Mackenzie.

Thank you for choosing me as the Carman Cougar Charities Volunteer Leadership Scholarship recipient. I am so thankful for this opportunity. Having received this scholarship helps me and my family a lot. I will continue to serve in the community and help make it a better place.

Cougar Closet has been a great asset to the students at Carman/Ainsworth. It provides needed supplies and health items for our high school students in need. Many of our students don’t have money for personal care items and this closet provides a great service. HS teacher Jessica Mathews oversees this closet with help from the CA counselors!
